The most turbulent flight routes in North America are over Colorado, where the prevailing winds from the west barrel into the high peaks of the Rockies and tumble onto the High Plains below. They’re passing off control between each other in a more complicated way than just calling a single function and getting back a single result. The code in the lexer and parser can be more freely structured as any function can yield() or call() whenever a value is found or needed.
